Dates and order of activities are likely to change, but the activities themselves will likely remain consistent.
Daniel and Amanda will be there with a driver to pick all passengers up. In case anyone is hungry, we will have snacks and/or food waiting at our apartment, depending on the time of day.
Paloquemao Market is a large indoor-outdoor market filled with hundreds of vendors selling fruit, spices, and food. Colombia is the second-most biodiverse country in the world, and a fruit tour at Paloquemao is the perfect way to showcase that. We will eat both fruits and light snacks/dishes throughout the tour so no need for breakfast.
Amanda will need copy of passport for you to get authorized for entry into U.S. Embassy – Bogotá.
Daniel will prepare Mexican carnitas tacos and we will pre-game at our place before heading to the Millonarios match.
Millonarios FC is Colombia’s — and one of Latin America’s — most storied football clubs. We will attend a match at Estadio Nemesio Camacho, known as “El Campin” or “The Camp” in English. Daniel will buy the tickets and has enough jerseys for the boys to wear, while Amanda has enough jerseys for the gals.
DAY 3 – BOGOTÁ
We can eat at our place and order baked goods from Les Amis, Magnifique, or Bagatelle.
Take the cable car or funicular to Monserrate for panoramic views of Bogotá.
After Monserrate, we will head to this market for an authentic Colombian lunch with dishes like ajiaco (soup with potatoes and chicken) or lechona (roasted pig stuffed with rice, spices, and onions).
We will explore La Candelaria, the historic center of Bogotá. We will take a tour of Plaza de Bolívar, learn about Colombia’s history, and maybe stop at the Gold and Botero Museums.
DonDoh is a Japanese steakhouse offering premium cuts of meat, traditional dishes, and Asian-fusion. See the menu here.
DAY 4 – CARTAGENA
Fly from Bogotá to Cartagena. (We plan for an early flight to maximize our day in Cartagena).
We will take a guided walking tour of Cartagena’s Walled City, visiting places like Plaza Santo Domingo, Castillo San Felipe, and the Clock Tower.
Restaurant renowned for its Peruvian-style ceviche (there will be non-seafood options on the menu).
DAY 5 – CARTAGENA
Spend the day on a boat tour to the nearby Rosario Islands, enjoying the white sand beaches, snorkeling, and swimming.
Renowned restaurant offering contemporary Colombian cuisine.
Spend the day hanging out by the pool, relaxing, drinking, and eating our pretty little faces off. We can eat at one of the many great restaurants in the city, or eat at the hotel restaurants. The world is our oyster (which are plentiful on Cartagena menus!)
Sunset at Café del Mar, located atop the city walls, with views over the Caribbean Sea.
DAY 7 – BOGOTÁ
